(Vlog) Want a New Habit to Stick? This really helps…

I’ll be in Australia till the end of May (seeing my family and clients here, and feeling very lucky to be enjoying the last summer weather here and wild beaches), so filmed this for you on a remote & beautiful south coast of NSW beach.

This month in my membership group, The Courageous Way, we have been exploring New Habits and steps and understandings so they can become automatic and easy, and one can really benefit from them.

What Im sharing today is a couple of ways I find really help to keep sticking with a new habit, even on the hard days, so you can reap the benefits from yours.

Have you found it’s hard to stick with the new habits you take up?

Yes it happens to us all. We feel inspired, decide now is the time to take up a new habit, we make time for it, even wake up earlier in the morning to begin it….But then after some days, or weeks our enthusiasm can start to wane, it becomes harder to do, less appealing and our new habit gets less and less energy from us.

So what happened?

The instinctual part of our brain and our physical body are not comfortable with change. They see it as a threat, as dangerous, so it feels easier, far more comfortable and safer for them to get us to go back to our old habits, even if they weren’t good for us. Then all the new possibilities you saw in that inspired moment when you decided to start the new habit, are dropped too. Left by the roadside.

Yes it does take energy, will power, and on the low days, drive to continue with new habits – but there are also ways to make them easier to stay with.

In this video I’m sharing two approaches I use when I’m working on a new habit, and with these you too can keep up your momentum even in the moments when you might want to drop the new habit. So you can keep going, and actually enjoy the challenge of pushing through…and seeing the benefits!
