Festive Wishes, Big Rocks & A Beach…

In Courageous Living, Inspiration & Purpose

As this year is draws to a close I have been thinking of you, and I wanted to send you a big Thank You! for being part of my life and my journey this past year. Whether you and I have met casually, at a festival, in clinic sessions, we worked closely together in a private retreat, or maybe through the online world during this last year – I love our connection and hope it continues and grows in the new year.

And best wishes for your Festive Season! I hope you enjoy great celebrations, plus some time to pause, to look back and consider your past year, and maybe explore how you would like your new one to unroll for you. This, my last video of the year for you, is on something you may include when planning your new year (I do this more and more) and it was filmed on a hot, sunny beach in Australia, where I am celebrating the holiday season with my family this month.

This is a powerful time of year for us to be inspired by the Sun – & also pause.

On Friday 21 December at 10.23pm (Sat 22 9.23am in Sydney) is the solstice when from our view the sun changes direction, and season. In the north it will be the shortest day of the year, and the longest in the south.
But the sun doesn’t just change direction quickly.
It pauses for three full days, and only starts its journey in the other direction on the 24th December.

So rather than waiting for the New Year, when most people think of their goals for the year to come.

Why not be inspired by the sun?

Give yourself some time over a few days during the festive time, between the Solstice to the New Year, and reflect on your past year, and what inspiring new possibilities and promises you want to include in your new year.

Make the important elements of your life intentional rather than accidental – Im exploring one of these in this week’s vlog – Festive Wishes, Big Rocks & a Beach

Have you heard the Big Rocks story?

There is a great story about rocks, pebbles, sand and a large jar (made famous by Stephen Covey) – and I love it when I’m rebalancing priorities, especially at this time of the year when I take a few days out in nature to review the year just ending, and plan my ‘big rocks’ personal and business for the new year coming.

But I’m jumping ahead of myself – what are the big rocks?

The story goes –

A professor comes into a classroom with a large glass jar, some big fist sized rocks, some pebbles and some sand.

He then fills the jar with about five big rocks, and asked the students – ‘Is it full?’ They say Yes!

Then he takes some small pebbles and pours them in, and by shaking the jar many of them fit in around the big rocks.

He asks the class again “Is the jar full?’. They look at each other, and agree yes.

Finally, he pours in sand, filling all the space between. Now the students really agree the jar is full.

The professor then takes another jar.

He pours the sand in and a few pebbles so the jar is full, and then asks a student to try and fit in the big rocks between the sand.
One of them comes up and tries, but they cant even fit one big rock in.

The professor then explains the meaning…..The jar represents our Life.

The Big Rocks are the most important things in our life – time with our family, children, friends, health, nature, fulfilling our hopes and dreams. (You can also have a big rock for work, if it’s your passion.)
Pebbles are things that matter, but a bit less important, things we could live without – our house, car, job, our stuff.
Sand is the small things that can fill our days yet doesn’t give us fulfilment – errands, digital time, emails etc.

Our lives can so easily become filled with Sand and Pebbles, and leave no room for the Big Rocks – the things that fill us with joy and give real meaning to our lives.

The ones that, when we look back at a year, will give us that feeling thats its been an amazing year.

So when you start thinking of your goals and dreams for the New Year coming – why not explore your big rocks first?
What they are for you, and then schedule time for them first. and only add the pebbles in after you have given your big rocks enough space. There will always be enough time for the essential sand tasks to fit in what time is left.

Giving yourself some time to do this before the new year takes off can change everything…

I would love to hear what your Big Rocks are for 2019…

Wishing you a wonderful, fulfilling and happy year to come.

With love,

Cassandra Punita xx

P.S. I have something in January to help you clarify your dreams for the New Year even further.

I will be offering some free Discovery Calls. These are a chance to explore and get clear on your big rocks, maybe even uncover some new ones, and then plan how you can make them happen in 2019.

Look out for my email with your invitation and more details on 1st January if you would like to apply….
