(Vlog) Finding Calm in Wildfire, & Other Scary Times
I flew down to Australia last week for a short two-week visit to my parents – and arrived to a sudden state-wide emergency.
93 wildfires had broken out in NSW alone! (Bushfires as they call it here.)
And many of them were out-of-control.
(In Australia fires like these are getting worse with the extreme dryness and drought from climate change.)
One never really understands the speed wildfires can race at, the devastation and loss of life for people and animals they can cause, and the fear they can trigger in our bodies, till you have been near one.
That fear of fire is an ancient cellular one, a survival instinct of our earliest ancestors.
I felt it as I arrived at my parent’s country property to find smoke filling the air, and one of the out-of-control wildfire fire threatening their valley and property.
I jumped in to help…
And today I want to tell you what happened…and to share a technique with you that I have used in times of wildfire danger, and other scary times, to find some calm.

Do feel free to Share this if you enjoy it.
And I would love to hear what situations your body can find challenging, and when these happen – what you find can help it to relax and find some calm? (You can add your thoughts under this vlog, or comment on this post in Facebook.)
