(Vlog) Why is change so hard?…Tips for new habit success
You know that feeling?
One day you feel inspired – say to yourself that it’s time for a change, new habits, a new life!
You see so many amazing new possibilities.
So you sit down, you make a plan and get ready, and then start to make a change – a new habit, a big jump, letting something go. Shifting somethings big or small in your life.
It usually start’s well. You feel good, yet…
But how is your new habit going after a few days or weeks?
Are you still doing it, or have you dropped off?
For most of us new habits become so harder and harder very quickly, and we rarely keep going beyond a few weeks or months.
Other things seem more urgent, or easier and comfortable. All your best intensions dissolve, your old habits resurface, the new ones are overwhelmed…and you are back to where you were before you decided to make your big change.
Then we usually don’t feel good. We have failed, don’t seem to have any stamina. Judge ourselves. And feel powerless, that we cant change the important things in our life.
Why does this happen?
Why does it seem so hard to make big changes in our lives that will help us?
I know the feeling. I have gone through it myself. Though experience I mastered making the big jumps of no return in my life when I was young (new adventures, new countries etc), but I found the small constant shifts to new habits challenged me much longer – deciding to get fitter, to branch out and master a new way to work, to let go old outmoded habits. So I went exploring why these where so hard, and how they could be easier…
I wanted solutions that worked, so I explored why we do this, why we so often sabotage the changes and new habits our wiser self wants us to make, and go back to old patterns that often are not good for us or satisfying at all….
…and I found answers, solutions and new ways to introduce lasting change into your life.
Ones that now mean I can also implement the small changes, start new habits, in my life with success and more ease.
What made the difference?
The answers to why we hold ourselves back are hidden deep in our ancient brain, and in the cells of our body.
The decisions these parts of us make make total sense to that part of us, just not to the rest.
The deep, buried parts of us that decide its in our best interest to drop a healthy new habit, or shrink back from taking a radical jump in our lives, have their reaction founded in the past. They are not looking to the breath-taking amazing possibilities of our future!
Unfortunately, though they are trying to protect us, if fact they hold us back from living the best possible version of ourselves, and our lives.
So this vlog is about what I have learnt about these deep reactions, and what steps you can take to reassure them and choose a different path – so you can shift and transform the things you want to in your life, can begin a new habit, or make a big jump.
And start making the changes you have been wishing for…
